A used laptop is the cheapest way to get a machine that runs office work and study smoothly, especially business models such as the Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell Latitude and HP EliteBook, which are built to last for years. Prioritise an SSD, at least 8GB RAM, a fairly recent CPU generation, a Full HD screen and a seller who states the warranty and return policy clearly. Avoid listings that do not name the CPU generation, machines with only a hard drive, or vague "like new" claims without real photos.
